1983

The Summer Venture in Management Program (SVMP) is founded at Harvard Business School.

  • Dr. James Heskett – UPS Foundation Professor of Business Logistics, Emeritus
  • Dr. James Cash – James E. Robson Professor of Business Administration, Emeritus

 

2000

The first SVMP Alumni Reunion is held in a Boston hotel room.  There the SVMP Alumni Association is formed as a way to cultivate a network for members to tap into as they progress through their careers.

2001

The SVMP Alumni Association partners with Harvard Business School, helping them to recruit high-potential juniors for SVMP.  UBS becomes the Alumni Association’s first corporate sponsor.

 

2008
The Summer Venture in Management Program celebrates 25 years of helping to increase diversity and opportunity in business education.

 

That same year, Harvard Business School also celebrated its Centennial. For 100 years, Harvard Business School has educated leaders and generated ideas that shape the practice of management around the world.

 

2009

The SVMP Alumni Association becomes a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The newfound status better positions the organization to strategically achieve its mission as well as receive charitable contributions and effectively manage sponsorships.

The Alumni Beat Newsletter is introduced as a way to keep our alumni base connected, and provide valuable news and information.
